Cultivate Collective in Salt River is a wine bar, collaborative retail store, tasting room, and events space with a powerful purpose. All of its member winemakers and sommeliers are people of colour — a deliberate and meaningful step toward addressing the historical imbalance in the South African wine industry.

The initiative is the brainchild of Zahira Asmal — urbanist, author, and founder and director of The City — and is supported by the Julius Baer Foundation.
