HILL HOUSE
Conceptually, the house is conceived as a series of pure horizontal elements in the landscape — a single white floating box cantilevering off robust dry-stone retaining walls, accompanied by a long lap pool that mirrors the sky. The garden elevation is entirely glazed, dissolving the boundary between the living spaces and the lush natural setting beyond, while the mountain ranges visible through the glass become a ever-present backdrop to daily life.
At the entrance, a wide lily pond with stepping stones creates a moment of calm and ceremony before arriving at the front door — a quiet transition from the outside world into this serene retreat. Warm timber cladding on the street façade adds texture and warmth, grounding the otherwise minimal composition within its landscape.
