Cantilevering over the ridge of a hilltop, the house is conceived as two bold horizontal planes that float above the Karoo landscape. The concept is elemental — a pure datum line cut against the dramatic slope of the hillside, lifting the living spaces above the terrain to capture uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding valley.

The house is entirely glazed between the two horizontal planes, dissolving the boundary between inside and out. A generous timber pool deck extends from the living space, anchoring the building to the hillside and framing the breathtaking mountain backdrop beyond.
