Located on a country farm, this series of riverside guest cottages is inspired by the vernacular barn structures found in the area. The cottages are arranged in a linear sequence along the water's edge, each unit raised on a robust gabion stone plinth that anchors the buildings to the riverbank while protecting them from seasonal flooding. Their simple, horizontal forms sit quietly in the landscape, reflecting in the still water below.

Each cottage opens generously toward the river through full-height glazing and a covered timber deck, blurring the boundary between inside and the tranquil waterfront setting. The warm, light-filled interior is simply detailed — timber floors, natural materials, and an uninterrupted view of the river and weeping willows beyond.
