Located in the semi-industrial neighbourhood of Woodstock, Cape Town, the Woodstock Art Gallery draws its inspiration directly from the sawtooth rooflines of the nearby historic factory buildings. The iconic industrial profile is reinterpreted as a series of elegant, angular skylight fins that lift above the roof, filtering and diffusing the intense northern light down into the gallery below — flooding the space with the soft, even natural illumination that sculpture and artwork demand.

The building presents a bold, sculptural street presence, its white latticed façade and dramatic roofline forming a striking civic landmark against the backdrop of Devil's Peak. Inside, the galleries are oriented to frame this dramatic mountain view, while remaining directly connected to the sculpture garden at the rear — allowing art, architecture, and landscape to merge seamlessly.
